Michelle LaBrosse, CCPM, PMP, PMI-ACP

Tom Corley, author of “Rich Habits,” studied what rich people do differently.  Many of these things are what people not only learn, but master by becoming Cheetah Certified Project Managers.   His lists of what rich people do differently appear on a number of websites (good job Tom getting out there).   Here are the factoids from Corley’s research that relate to how improving your project management skills can improve your wealth:

80% of wealthy are focused on accomplishing some single goal. Only 12% of the poor do this.  To achieve a goal, you have to do one or a series of projects.  Cheetah Certified Project Managers learn how to set and pursue the right goals (and projects) for them.

81% of wealthy maintain a to-do list vs. 19% for poor. In project management – the “to-do list” is called the “work break down” structure.  Cheetah Certified Project Managers learn how to not only create to-do lists, they also learn how to get those to-do lists done at cheetah speed.

67% of wealthy write down their goals vs. 17% for poor. Cheetah Certified Project Managers take this to the next level – they learn a simple system to prioritize and balance their goals based on their innate strengths, values, and short & long term desires.

6% of wealthy say what’s on their mind vs. 69% for poor. Learning how to work well with others is a critical success factor in project management and this is a key skill students master in the Cheetah Certified Project Manager program.

79% of wealthy network 5 hours or more each month vs. 16% for poor. Cheetah Certified Project Managers master the ability to create and leverage their social networks to achieve their goals and dreams at cheetah speed.

86% of wealthy love to read vs. 26% for poor and 88% of wealthy read 30 minutes or more each day for education or career reasons vs 2% for poor. Cheetah Certified Project Managers master how to speed read so these 30 minutes of reading are even more impactful.

84% of wealthy believe good habits create opportunity luck vs. 4% for poor. The Cheetah Certified Project Manager program focuses the student on mastering these good habits so when they successfully complete the three month program they have these wealth producing habits an ingrained part of their day to day existence.

86% of wealthy believe in life-long educational self-improvement vs. 5% for poor. Cheetah Certified Project Managers learn how to learn fast so they more efficiently learn anything they want and need to further their success.
